We are committed to recycling 100% of our tree surgery and woodland management waste. Whenever possible, we transform this waste into useful products that benefit the local community. Additionally, we prioritize the use of recycled or sustainably sourced materials when supplying new products. Our aim is to support local businesses and utilize FSC-certified timber, promoting responsible forest management practices.

To protect the environment, we use biodegradable lubricants and chain oil in all our equipment. This is especially crucial when operating in sensitive areas such as ponds, rivers, streams, and wet woodlands. Our chosen chain oil is of the highest quality, with 80% of the oil degrading within a mere 21 days.

Sustainability extends to our office operations as well. We implement sustainable management practices, including the use of recycled paper, low-energy consumption equipment, and biodegradable cleaning products. Even our office heating is powered by our own firewood, further reducing our carbon footprint.

Here are some of the ways we actively recycle:

• • Wood chip: We supply Thetford forest power station with wood chip, contributing to the production of green energy.
  • Garden waste: Grass cuttings and leaf rakings are mulched and transformed into nutrient-rich compost.
  • Brushwood and branches: Offcuts are repurposed into habitat piles and “bug hotels,” creating new homes for insects and small mammals.
  • Woodland management by-products: Coppice poles find new life as hedging stakes and fencing timber.
  • Special and decorative timber: We utilize these materials to craft exquisite garden furniture and other external and internal features.
